Adidas partnered with Riddell to apply the Mud Dogs familiar logo to modern helmet technology so the players wearing the throwback jerseys wouldn’t be stuck in 1990s technology like Boucher while still looking authentic.
The team is using Riddell InSite Impact Response System helmets, according to UT Austin athletic trainer Anthony Pass. The helmets are equipped with sensors that measure the acceleration of a hit, as well as the location, direction and severity. The sensors then send this data to a handheld device, enabling training staff to keep tabs on each player during practices and games.
But, it's not just the paint job that's new, it's also what's under the hood; a new technology from Riddell Helmets called Insite that makes the Rattlers new look just as much a safety statement as it is a fashion statement.
With the sport’s newest equipment technology, the St. Olaf College Football program is making moves to prioritize player safety by introducing helmets that will monitor the in-game head health of players. Poinciana High is still looking for its first football victory of the year, but a grant the Eagles recent secured a $10,000 grant from supplier Riddell to retrofit its collection of football equipment. PHS was one of 18 schools to earn the grant as a winner of Riddell’s ’18 in 18’ Smarter Football program. The “18 in 18” pays homage to the number Peyton Manning wore throughout his NFL career, and he joined Riddell as part of his role as brand ambassador in reviewing applications to help select the 18 winning teams.

A New Mexico high school football team is getting new equipment and they got the news delivered by someone pretty famous. Peyton Manning told the West Las Vegas High "Dons" in a video that because of their commitment to playing the game safe, they'll be getting all new equipment from Riddell.
