  New helmets a 'perfect fit'

  The Tommy McNamara Charitable Foundation is always looking for ways to make a direct impact on the lives of youth in the community. So, when the Kennebunk Youth Football Program reached out over the winter in need of help with the purchase of 120 top-of-the-line helmets, it was a match made in heaven. The foundation has used its main event – an annual Wiffle ball tournament held at the Tommy McNamara Wiffle Ball Field in Kennebunk – as a springboard for various causes such as the donation of a Beach Wheelchair for Gooch’s Beach and the provision of scholarships for the Kennebunk Recreation Department’s Summer Day Camp. Helping supply 120 youth football players with Riddell Speedflex helmets can also be added to the list.

  USA Football Protection Tour takes a stop at MetLife

  For 250 kids in the tri-state area, many of whom are New York Giants and Jets fans, this weekend was an opportunity of a lifetime. These youth football players, along with parents and coaches, got to attend the USA Football Protection Tour, a free one-day football camp at MetLife Stadium. Part of the experience included Riddell representatives onsite to properly fit each participant for a helmet. If a child had their own helmet, the proper adjustments were made. If the child just needed to be measured, Riddell had helmets on site to get proper measurements and share with youth football leagues. Riddell also presented on how to properly fit helmets on your own.

  Pebble Hills the first to receive ‘El Paso Strong’ helmet decals, donated by Riddell

  The Pebble Hills Spartans are the first local high school football team in El Paso to receive their ‘El Paso Strong’ helmet decals. As KTSM 9 Sports first reported last week, Riddell Sports has donated 8,000 of these decals to roughly 35 high schools in El Paso. Riddell extending their efforts to help the community heal after a gunman killed 22 people and wounded more than two dozen others at the Cielo Vista Walmart on August 3.

  Detroit Lions Touchdown in Your Town summer 2019

  This summer the Detroit Lions surprised five communities across the state as part of the launch of their new initiative, Detroit Lions Touchdown in Your Town. Each school was given with a $10,000 grant for their high school football program from the Lions, new football helmets in partnership with Riddell, a chocolate milk grant from the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, and equipment grants from USA Football.

  Riddell donating "El Paso Strong" decals to all El Paso area high schools

  In just three short weeks, high school football players from the El Paso area will take to the field for the start of the high school football season. Players will try to put the focus back on football in the coming days, but they'll be doing it with heavy hearts following Saturday's deadly mass shooting at a Walmart near Cielo Vista Mall. Riddell, a company that provides sports equipment to schools across the country, is hoping to help in the healing process by donating "El Paso Strong" decals to all El Paso area high schools.

  Vikings set to unveil new helmet for 2019 season and here's what it looks like

  After six years of wearing a helmet that didn't really match their uniforms, the Minnesota Vikings have finally decided to do something about it. In an effort to satisfy all you fashion police out there, the Vikings have decided to slightly change their helmet color for 2019. The team will wear the new helmets for the first time on Friday in New Orleans, when they take on the Saints in their preseason opener. The Vikings decided to make the change because in certain lighting situations -- most notably on TV -- the team's matte purple helmets didn't appear to match the purple on the rest of their uniform. To get the problem fixed, the Vikings got in touch with Riddell, who helped them develop a helmet that actually matched their uniform.

  LISD is the only district in Laredo to be using Riddell helmets, which also operate as an InSite Training Tool. The moment a serious head collision happens, that data is stored specifically to that person's helmet.

  Widely known as a basketball town, Peoria is drawing national interest on the gridiron. Two years removed from shattering IHSA offensive records and winning a Class 5A state championship, the Lions listened to Peyton Manning announce them as Riddell’s team of the future.

  USA Football’s Protection Tour Presented by Riddell Returns to California

  After a successful stop in the Bay Area last month, USA Football’s 2019 Protection Tour traveled 400 miles south on Saturday to the current home of the Los Angeles Chargers – Costa Mesa, Calif. – for a football-filled day of excitement and learning. The event was performed in conjunction with the opening week of Chargers training camp, with participants and their families being able to watch the team practice and get pictures and autographs from players before starting their own on-field activities.
